Building Science Engineering
R & C offers five groups of building consulting and engineering services.
Building Science combines a knowledge of construction technology, material science, physics, meteorology and engineering analysis. Its challenge is to separate the interior built environment from exterior conditions in order to control heat, air and moisture migration through the building enclosure (walls, windows, doors, roofs, and basements). Building Science engineering also focuses on other building occupant comfort issues including, but not limited to, illumination and acoustics.
Typical Services
- Moisture damage evaluations (water leakage and condensation)
- HVAC (heating, ventilation, air conditioning) systems' evaluations
- Third-party review of construction details and shop drawings
- Thermal modeling of cladding systems
